I believe that God has been at work since the "fall of man" to reestablish His Kingdom here on earth. What God the Father started with Abraham, He continued in Exodus 19:4-7 with Israel. He modeled what it was to look like within the life of Jesus and left us to continue His work. My prayer is to find what this means in my life today.

The Church??
I just finished a great book, that has forced me to reexamine how I view the Church. (I love books that make you to think) Now when I say the Church I do not mean the one I attend, but the one I am corporately in because of my faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God. Think of all the churches that you know of and make a mental note of what you think of as you recall them in your mind. (humor me)....How would you describe them? Now look at them from God's perspective. What do you think? Have we veered off track from what God inteaded this institution to be? If so, how do we get to where He wants it to be? Maybe we are doing just fine. I welcome your thoughts. be blessed

Great question! When I think about the churches that I think about self-serving. I know that there are a great many churches that do a great job of reaching out. Some talk often about reaching out to those that don't know Christ, but then I see that they really focus their efforts internally, on the folks that are already "in". I know that this is very far off from what God wants His people to be and His church to look like. I'm not too sure about how to get there other than a refocus of the church to see the people that are missing from His kingdom as the ultimate of purpose. Its so hard for an institution to plan on the unknowns when doing this, its easier to focus on the discipleship of the members of the body. Maybe I'm wrong, in fact I hope I am.
